Liquid Polymer Clay Ornaments

This month, we're showing you how to make an easy liquid polymer clay glass ornament!

Over the years, we've used a similar technique to coat the inside of glass ornaments using glue and other adhesive materials. Now, we're going to show you how easy it is to use liquid polymer clay to do the same thing!

What you'll need:

  • Clear, glass ornaments (must be glass)
  • Liquid polymer clay -- brand and color of your choice
  • Embellishments -- glitter, alcohol ink, etc.

Directions:

1. Remove the metal topper from your ornament and sit it aside.

2. Using a stirring tool, be sure to mix your liquid clay before use.

3. Gradually pour your liquid polymer clay into your ornament and begin to rotate it so the clay covers all of the inside.

Note: you may need to add a little more liquid clay to your ornament, but be careful not to add too much as it will easily pool at the bottom during baking.

4. Once the inside of your ornament is coated, hold it upside down for a bit to let any excess liquid clay drip out -- this step is your choice.

Note: We don't recommend letting your liquid clay drip back into the bottle as there may be debris from your ornament mixed in.

5. Now that your ornament is coated, you can decide if you're adding any embellishments -- in other ornaments, we used glitter and alcohol ink.

6. Place your ornament in a pan filled with fiberfil to cushion your ornament while baking.

7. Bake for 20 minutes at the specified temperature of your liquid clay.

8. Be sure to let the ornament completely cool after baking.

9. Once cooled, place the metal topper back on your ornament.

10. At this point, you can add any other embellishments to the outside including a decorative ribbon!
