This time last year, I was excited (and terrified) to publish my first edition of pcPolyzine after taking the e-zine over from my late mother.
Over the past few weeks, I've been thinking a lot about everything it took to get pcPolyzine back up and running—from tracking down accounts and passwords to redesigning the website from scratch with very little web design experience. Mom put a lot of effort into building pcPolyzine and connecting artists from all over. This time last year, I was very unsure if I'd be able to pull this off and live up to her legacy. Since then, I've learned so many new things. And it's been great to get back into polymer clay and create (although finding free time is another story).
I've also enjoyed getting to know so many wonderful polymer clay artists from around the world. When my mom took over pcPolyzine, the world was different and the power of the Internet was still very new. Today, our ability to virtually connect and share ideas has taken our craft to a whole new level!
As I publish this edition of pcPolyzine, I am excited to see what the next year will bring; who I'll meet through our connection with clay; and what amazing clay-related techniques and tricks I'll learn.
I want to thank each and every one of you for your encouragement, support, dedication, and collaboration throughout this year—I couldn't have done it without you!
~Katie
