Letter from the Editor: March 2021

Over the past month, I have been fortunate enough to be able to attend two virtual clay extravaganzas—and they were great!

For an entire week starting on February 5th, the Polymer Clay Symposium 2021 shared virtual interviews, Q & A sessions, and tutorials from over 25 of the world's best polymer clay instructors. Participants learned techniques ranging from faux soutache to star mandala pendants and from ribbon jewelry to projects incorporating clay and other mixed media. We even had the opportunity to get a sneak peak inside some artist's studios! The 8-day symposium provided something for everyone. Did you miss it? Don't worry, you can still access the sessions through Curious Mondo's site.

Then on February 6th and 7th, I was able to virtually join the Tallahassee Polymer Clay Art Guild's Chilly Day Retreat. During the retreat, participants enjoyed demos from Ann Mitchell and Karen Mitchell of AnKaraDesigns; Maria Alexandrou from the Cyprus Polymer Clay Association; as well as demos from the guild's own Annette C. and Cindy S. For more information about the retreat or to join, check out the guild's page!

Being able to pack so many tutorials and demos into such as short period of time was extremely inspirational. While we continue to navigate through social distancing and a busy spring, don't forget to take some time to relax and smell the (polymer clay) roses!
