Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow—that's good news!

Just because Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow doesn't mean that six more weeks of winter is bad—it means six more weeks of being inside to play with CLAY!

And speaking of playing with clay, pcPolyzine attended the annual Chilly Clay Retreat with the Tallahassee Polymer Clay and Art Guild virtually this past weekend.

On Saturday, Ann Duncan-Hlavach shared a demo about how she creates Mokume Gane In Situ designs on 3D objects. Later that day, Ellen Rumsey Bellenot showed the group how to make adorable bookmarks from remnants of clay and also how to create beautiful packaging for them. And we wrapped the day up with Barbara Forbes-Lyons sharing tips and tricks for using a Curio (or similar machine) to make stencils and other polymer clay accents.

When we reconvened on Sunday, our first demo was from Nikolina Otržan showing us how to make her tube-inspired earring and pin set. After lunch, we wrapped up our annual retreat with Laurie Mika giving us a tour of her wonderful studio and then showing everyone how she makes mixed media clay quilts.
