Another successful Clay-Bor Day Retreat is a wrap!
Members and friends of the Tallahassee Polymer Clay Art Guild joined in-person and virtually over the Labor Day weekend for some well-deserved clay time.
Saturday kicked off with Joan Taylor's Lidded Vessels demo. Joan's technique ensured the lids securely attached to their vessel. Then, participants learned how to make the Monet Cane from Berndell Moffett-Chaney. She also showed how to create Mokume Gane using rainbow foils.
The fun didn't stop on Sunday! Denise Fitzsimmons walked the participants through her process of making a pearlescent peacock. Not only is this peacock made from polymer clay, it also incorporates other types of media for a mixed media masterpiece! And last, but not least, Sydney Carter wrapped up the retreat by sharing her dotting with liquid clay technique.
In between scheduled demos, those who attended were able to work on their own projects, perfect techniques, share, and just catch up with others. This blended approach worked out wonderfully and allowed guild members and friends to join both near and far!
