We kicked September off right—with a virtual clay retreat!
Now that the kiddos are back in school, what better way to spend some free time than playing with clay! On September 4, pcPolyzine joined the Tallahassee Polymer Clay Art Guild for their annual Claybor Day retreat.
We kicked off the festivities Saturday morning with a meet and greet, sharing our most recent projects, and just spending some time catching up. It was so nice to get to see everyone and share!

Our first demo of the day was from Barbara McGuire. She shared some great ways to incorporate wire wrapping with your polymer clay beads to create beautiful and unique jewelry. Barbara explained to the group about different wire gauges and how different wire tools work to create different effects. She also taught the "right" way to achieve some amazing designs.
We also had a surprise guest—Syndee Holt! She shared with us some tips and tricks she's learned over the years to make working with polymer clay a breeze. It was wonderful to learn from her!
And to wrap the day up, Kelly Russell shared her tutorial for making beautiful hollow box beads. Although this process is not quick, Kelly showed us the best way to choose veneers, components, and other elements to create unique beads that will surely create a stir!
But that wasn't it—on Sunday, Alice Stroppel hosted a Loveable Leftovers class. In this class, Alice shared ways to use "scrap" bits and pieces of clay from other projects and incorporate them into their own elegant piece of art!
